We are directly working with a tier 1 automotive manufacturer currently seeking an MRO/indirect Buyer to help drive the sourcing and securing for all MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) goods and services. They will be responsible for maintaining proper documentation for all MRO suppliers and products in addition to contract negotiation. This is a full time, direct hire position.
Essential Functions
- Work with varying departments to understand their needs in ordering supplies and tooling
- Generate monitoring reports on MRO expenses per department
- Promptly place orders with vendors using appropriate means of negotiating or verifying costs involved, including freight and payment terms
- Make comparisons in order to recommend MRO providers which are the best option, thus benefiting the company
- Conduct procurement negotiations involving agreements on terms and conditions prices and schedules
- Maintain the cost-quality relation, pursuing the maximum savings for the company
- Manage the various commodities with a good understanding of the drivers and technical processes
- Resolve overdue purchase order issues
Required Education And Experience
- College or Certified Purchasing Professional (preferred)
- Computer and negotiating skills
- 3-5 years of MRO/Indirect buying experience
- SAP/MRP background, CMS and Procurement software experience
