Job Summary
Responsible for the on-time availability of parts, sub-assemblies, supplied materials, maintenance
and service items, and all other inputs which meet conformance standards for design,
engineering, functionality and geometry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
include but not limited to the following.
o Uses MRP to maintain inventory records, manage stock on hand, track inventory
transactions, and release raw materials.
o Maintains accurate inventory records and analyze inventory discrepancies
o Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen
conditions.
o Monitor supplier related on-time shipping data as well as updating supplier performance
reports
o Coordinate/assist with new product launch meetings
o Ownership of supplier pipeline
o Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
o Demonstrates attention to detail; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality;
Monitors own work to ensure quality
o Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor or quality engineer
immediately.
o Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses
equipment and materials properly
o Schedule production for assembly lines including incoming and outgoing parts
o Contact suppliers as needed for scheduling of production line
o Scheduling of components for assembly – expedite as needed
o Maintain all necessary records in the materials department
o Tracks weekend loads
o Interact with suppliers as needed
o Maintain open sales orders
o Logistic scheduling
o Monitor supplier related on-time shipping data
o Control inventory dollars
o Cost savings on freight
o Work with production on material flow – part presentation to the line
o Coordinate and assist with new product launch meetings
o Conduct routine cycle counts and maintain audit records
o Solid interaction with the shipping department
o Prepare load sheets
o Control shim inventory
o Rating disputes
o Updates packaging per customer specifications
o Performs any other duties as assigned
o Serves on teams or committees as needed
Job Qualifications/Requirements
o Experience with MRP, ERP, Forecasting, CMS.
o Release of raw materials, Raw material processing, Chemical inventory.
o Experience with inventory control, demand planning, production planning, and supply
chain management.
o Must be able to work with very limited supervision
o Must be a self-starter and possess initiative
o Must possess excellent planning and organizational skills
o Must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
o Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
o Must possess ability to work flexible hours including overtime
o Must be available for around the clock customer support
o Prefer a working knowledge of assembly lines and processes
o Must possess ability and drive to work in a team environment
o Must possess proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel, etc.) and the ability to efficiently process data
o Must be willing to accept work related calls after hours
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy
o Ability to communicate orally with vendors, management, and other co-workers, both
individually and in front of a group is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for
communication is essential.
Education/Experience
o Associates Degree with a 2-year certificate in Scheduling (raw materials experience a
plus)
o 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing (Automotive preferred)
