Top Gun Staffing Inc is working with a global Automotive manufacturing company seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer. Qualified candidates will have a strong background in Lean Manufacturing (Kaizen,Kanban), and a proven track record of cost cutting abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Planning of facility related projects
- Project integrity
- Support the production teams in continuous improvement
- Develop and implement initiatives to target cost reduction, safety/ergonomics, standardization, productivity, and quality improvement
- Assist with product launches and Engineering change activities such as product quotations, equipment and tool purchasing, line balancing, process flows, FEMA’s
- Contribute to the development of work instructions, line layouts, BOS charts and budgetary tracking
- Coach Process Technicians, GAP leaders, and Manufacturing Associates on process, troubleshooting, equipment set-up, proper gauging and procedures and other equipment or process related technical skills
- Support QRCI Process to identify root-cause problems
- Support and implement short and long term corrective actions
- Lead employee empowerment initiatives to drive continuous process improvement involving, Shop floor manager and direct labor associates
- Support and foster other team members research, implement and generate improvement ideas
Qualifications:
- BA of Science in mechanical Engineering, Welding, or Mechanical Technology
- 5+ years Process Technician experience
- Knowledge/Experience in the Automotive Industry
- Exposure and experience with Kaizen, Kanban
