Off Shift Maintenance Electrician

Top Gun is working with a manufacturer in the greater Oakland County area to fill a fulltime direct hire Maintenance Electrician.

2nd and 3rd shift must be able to work overtime

Salary $28 – $32 an hour depending on skill set.

 

Overview: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures and pipe and electrical systems in industrial establishment.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Assist in tool, fixture, and material flow and continuous improvements for those areas.
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting problems of all equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate shaft, bearing, gear, and other parts of machinery.
  • Clean, adjust and calibrate welding equipment.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all (production and facility) equipment.
  • Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Practice safe use of hand and machine tools, i.e. grinders, saws, lathes and mills.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S in department and periodically participating with audit process.
  • Supports and promotes core values, Environmental, Health and Safety Policy and Quality Policy.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment and document maintenance activities.

     

     

    Requirements

     

    Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; two years related experience and/or training in a maintenance role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Electrical Journeyman’s License.

     

  • Must be able to install and maintain electrical work on automated and manual equipment including Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems, Low Voltage Electrical systems and High voltage Electrical Wiring including fluent knowledge of 480V, 277V, 240V, 120V, and low voltage systems.
  • Understand and apply all aspects of Manual and Automated Welding including MIG and TIG.
  • Knowledgeable on PLC and electrical diagrams preferred
  • Understands MIG welding process and demonstrated skill.
  • Able to troubleshoot MIG welding equipment.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel Word, Outlook.
