Supplier Quality Engineer – Metals

Top Gun Staffing is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer in Upstate, SC.  

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Auditor certified in ISO or VDA 6.3
  • Technical knowledge in steels for cold stamping and aluminum.
  • Experience in supplier management and development (not similar positions)
  • Development and monitoring of KPIs for the supplier management area
  • Core Tools and mainly manual PPAP
  • Problem solving techniques and Teamwork
  • APQP and experience in launching new projects for suppliers
  • Experience in blanking and Class A processes

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for APQP, especially deliverables as per program requirements
  • Accountable for PPAP requirements (including appearance submission) to the specific customer ensuring specified requirements are met and maintained for subsequent configuration
  • Accountable for maintenance, accuracy and completeness of customer concerns
  • Accountable for ensuring updates and maintenance of D/PFMEA and control plans.
  • Accountable for analyzing statistical data, especially for continuous improvement and/or corrective action initiatives.
  • Accountable for setting internal boundary samples on attributes and where applicable obtaining Customer sign off
  • As Quality Engineer (QE), accountable for product related quality issues on assigned commodity parts for specific customer
  • Accountable for validate review with approved Lab on all metrics, especially during APQP and Eng. changes.
  • Extensive contact with Customer and internal team group members is required (technical, quality and manufacturing disciplines). In addition, a close working relationship with all levels of the plant organization is required
  • Coordinates the Company’s problem-solving activities and responds to externally and internally generated non-conformances. This includes the disposition of suspected material, analyzing non-conformances, investigating causes and initiating team meetings to implement corrective actions and to prevent non-conformances
  • Train members of operations team in specific quality disciplines as required
