The Role You Will Play: Human Resources (HR) Manager – Direct Hire
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Works in partnership with outside vendors to conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
Performs and or oversees routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs. Including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
Oversee and/or administer and maintain all insurance benefits; working to ensure accurate and proper billing from providers
Submit worker’s comp claims and ensure authorization for treatment forms are sent timely to the occupational health facility
Background Profile: Human Resources (HR) Manager – Direct Hire
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills; organizational skills and attention to detail; time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines; ability to prioritize and delegate when appropriate; act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality; thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
SHRM-CP (preferred)
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; proficient with or ability to quickly learn the company’s HRIS system
Experience of HR duties within the manufacturing or production industry with a company team size of approximately 100 employees
Self-directed, highly motivated, and ability to be a team player; provide mentoring and training to support the team and reach departmental goals
