This is a permanent, direct hire role for an automotive component manufacturer. This role is on a FAST TRACK to promotion to the Purchasing Manager position. The main activities of the company are focused on the design, development, and manufacturing of metal components for the automotive industry via stamping, tooling, assembly, welding, tailor-welded blanks, die-cutting, and machinery.
Job description of Senior Purchasing Buyer:
- Responsible for sourcing and procurement functions for production parts, services, and packaging materials.
- Collaborates with purchasing departments across multiple locations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyzes and negotiates supplier quotations, ensuring competitiveness in cost, quality, and delivery.
- Conducts online bids to secure market-competitive prices. Coordinates with engineering and program management to procure material for various production needs.
- Develops and manages supplier relationships, visiting supplier facilities when necessary.
- Conducts supplier evaluations and maintains supplier files.
- Manages contracts, purchase agreements, and orders.
- Identifies and monitors key initiatives and reports on their progress.
Requirements of Senior Purchasing Buyer:
- Minimum 3 years experience in Purchasing (MRO, SERIES).
- Four-year college degree preferred with a major in business
- Metal stamping & welding background preferred
- International trade and logistics knowledge preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Proficient with MS Office suite and ERP software, Knowledge of SAP, FullStep, ARIBA is a plus.
Shift & Pay:
- Monday- Friday 8am-5pm, No weekends.
- 80,000-90,000 DOE
