Responsibilities for welding technician
- Performs the mechanical and basic electrical and basic instrument and control troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting and constructing of equipment and systems
- Performs various welding activities
- Work performed under the supervision of the hourly supervisor, as assigned
- Maintains all automatic welding equipment operational in production area, assists Engineers in performance of duties
- Must be able to operation and qualify on all automatic welding equipment
- May be responsible for the direction of hourly classifications utilized in maintenance and repair of equipment
- High School graduate, or equivalent, formal welding technical education (Trade School for example) is a plus but not mandatory
- Candidate should be proficient with plasma cutting and have a good working knowledge of SMAW and GMAW
Qualifications for welding technician
- Ability to perform the physical duties of the position
- High School diploma or GED, Associates degree in welding through a certified welding program preferred
- Knowledgeable in blueprint reading of all weld symbols, ability to interpret GD&T preferred
- Must have experience in a manufacturing environment
