Top Gun Staffing is seeking an experienced and professional Weld Technician In the Glasgow KY area. Assist the Maintenance Department by supporting the company and customer quality systems, identifying and troubleshooting weld quality issues, and making recommendations for process improvement.
Job Description-
Assess welding processes suitable for high volume automotive body construction applications
Procure materials, conduct weld, ability assessments, and develop weld schedules
Operate manual, automated, and robotic welding cells and prototype welding equipment
Manufacture and tear down welds and characterize attributes per specifications · Conduct non-destructive evaluation and destructive tear down of welded assemblies
Characterize mechanical and metallurgical properties of welded joints
Support plant trials, equipment life testing, and prototype builds
Assess welding process robustness to key manufacturing variables
Conduct welding trials to evaluate novel supplier welding capability
Performs sets up, operates and adjusts numerically controlled drilling and boring machines (with or without milling capabilities), grinding equipment or lathes to machine or smooth parts
Work from various instructions such as specifications, sketches, technical orders, blueprints and other written and verbal instructions within established methods and procedures
Experience-
- Knowledge of GMAW welding processes and troubleshooting welding equipment
- Robotics knowledge
- AWS Certified
- Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Operate standard office equipment preferred
