Top Gun Staffing is looking for a strong CNC Set-up Machinist for a role with a major manufacturer in the Huntsville/Athens area! This role is a lead position and requires strong experience with various CNC Machinery including Mills and Lathes.
SUMMARY:
- Responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machinery for production
- Conduct First and Last Article Inspections
- Achieve optimum productivity by reducing set-up times, reducing cycle times, and monitoring output
- Provide training, support, and expertise to all CNC Operators
- Ensure equipment is maintained and will remain in operation with limited to no down-time
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support CNC operations and maximize productivity by:
- Performing technically intensive set-ups and changeovers
- Supporting Operators by providing training, materials, and feedback
- Troubleshooting any production issues
- Performing and assisting with in-process Quality Inspection
- Operating CNC Machinery as needed
- Optimize performance by reducing set-up times, increasing outputs, and improving first-pass yield
- Mount, align, and secure attachments, tools, fixture, and workpieces
- Use of instruments and measuring devices to calculate dimensions and tolerances
- CNC Machinery includes Lathes, Mills, Shapers, Grinders
REQUIREMENTS:
- Pass CNC assessment Operator test with a score of at least 80%
- Experience with Set-Up and Operation of various CNC machinery including Mills, Lathes, Shapers, and Grinders
- History of working in teams
- Problem solving ability and active troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement
- Supervisory experience
