Job Summary

Responsible for plant conveyance, material flow and layout, supplier packaging and freight optimization.
Key Responsibilities
-
Manages, organizes and facilitates Materials Department objectives to ensure performance to goals.

Process Development and improvement.
-
Develop and maintain Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and assure capability of material storage and plant material layout requirements.

Develop plant material handler headcount standards and assure actual meets business plan requirements.

Monitor and support development of smooth material flow for production materials to lineside production stations.

Liaise with other plants and departments to identify, analyze and implement best practices & benchmarks.

Dunnage, conveyance equipment and line side racking design responsibility.

Design, commission, oversee install and maintain in good working order all warehouse racking and storage equipment.

Responsible for maintaining all supplier Packaging Approval Data Sheet (PADS) forms and coordinating any packaging trials.

Assist materials team with packaging improvements to optimize inbound logistics routing costs.

Coordinate repair and replacement of damaged packaging and totes required to support plant sequencing and conveyance requirements.

Responsible for all PCN changes related to process & material flow, packaging and presentation.
Education/Skills
-
A Bachelor’s degree
-
Minimum of two (2+) years experience, preferably in automotive assembly and sequencing.

Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts.
-
Experience with SAP and ERP systems.
